Nuevo León Travel Guide

Geographical position and Climate of Nuevo León

Nuevo León is a state located in the northeastern part of Mexico. It shares its border with the United States to the north, specifically Texas, and it is also bordered by the Mexican states of Tamaulipas to the east and northeast, San Luis Potosí to the south, and Coahuila to the west.

The state has a diverse climate due to its topography, which includes mountains, plains, and desert areas. The climate can be categorized into three main types: Desert Climate, Semi-Arid Climate and Temperate Climate.

Best time to visit

The best time to visit the state is during the autumn months, from October to November, or in the spring, from March to April. During these periods, the weather is typically mild and pleasant, making it ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking in the mountains or exploring the cities.

Summer months can be extremely hot, especially in the lower elevations and desert areas, while winter can bring cooler temperatures and occasional cold fronts that may affect travel plans, particularly in the northern parts of the state. Autumn and spring offer a comfortable climate with less extreme weather conditions.
